🧼 About Us — The Shine4Charity Pressure Washing Challenge

We’re Bill and Sam, and together we’ve spent the last 6–7 years building My Local Cleaner Ltd — our family-run exterior cleaning company in Essex.
During that time, we’ve built a reputation for reliable pressure washing, driveway cleaning, patio cleaning, and gutter cleaning services across Witham, Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, and the surrounding areas.

Now it feels like the right time to take things further — to use our business, skills, and platforms to do something good while growing through social media.

How the Charity Cleaning Challenge Started

The idea came from an unexpected place.
While researching ways to grow online, we heard someone say you could build a full-time living on social media just by doing jobs for free. That made sense in theory — but working for free at big houses just to get likes didn’t feel right for us.

So we asked ourselves:
💡 How could we make that idea work for our business — and make a real difference for others too?

That’s when the Shine4Charity Pressure Washing Challenge was born.

Turning Cleaning Into Charity

Instead of giving away free work, we decided to keep charging our normal rates — but with one big twist:
100% of the fee is donated to a charity of the customer’s choice.

✅ The customer gets a professionally cleaned driveway or patio.
✅ The charity receives every penny of the labour cost.
✅ And the transformation is filmed and shared across YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok to inspire others and raise awareness.

So while we’re building our social media presence, local charities benefit directly.
It’s a genuine win-win that helps communities, raises awareness, and spreads positivity.

The 1,000-Job Challenge

We’ve set ourselves a huge goal — to complete 1,000 charity cleaning jobs.
There’s no cap on how much we might raise: if bigger jobs come in, this could generate £500,000 or more for good causes.

Each job will:

  • Support a different local or national charity
  • Be fully documented and shared online
  • Highlight the story behind the cause and the clean

Of course, there are running costs like fuel, equipment, and materials. Our plan is for those to be covered by sponsorships and ad revenue as the project grows — but even if they’re not, we’re still committed to seeing the full 1,000 jobs through.

And as much as the donations matter, the exposure could be just as valuable — if not more.
By showcasing hundreds of charities to thousands (or even millions) of viewers, the awareness and visibility we can create might far outweigh the money raised alone.

Built on Family, Community, and Hard Work

Even a small family business in Essex can use its time, tools, and talent to do something that really matters.

For us, this is about proving that with the right mindset and genuine effort, you can turn something simple — like pressure washing and exterior cleaning — into something powerful that helps others and inspires change.

Powered by My Local Cleaner Ltd
